Vegas offers it all for adrenaline junkies! Las Vegas is a bid kid’s playground and is home to some of the best fairground attractions and roller coaster rides in the world so let’s take a look at some of the scariest rides and attractions to get your heartrate going. From zip wiring between the two Rio Towers, to being scared out of your skin by ghouls and ghosts, read on if you dare…

Roller Coaster at NY NY

3790 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109

The Roller Coaster at NY NY is one of the most iconic rides in Las Vegas and can be spotted a mile away. Looping, winding, twisting and turning at up to 67 miles per hour this roller coaster ride is one of the most nail-biting of them all – you rarely spend any time upright! You’ll be going against impactful G Forces and barrel rolling at 180 degrees, not to mention dropping 144 feet! It’s one of the most recognisable rides in the Las Vegas landscape so make sure you pay a visit. Note: you must be over 1.37m to ride.

Desperado Roller Coaster

31900 S. Las Vegas Blvd, Primm, NV 89019-9119

Desperado Roller Coaster isn’t just any roller coaster, it’s classified as a hypercoaster! It once held the title of the tallest roller coaster in the world, up to 1996. Now, although it’s been surpassed, it’s still one of the most terrifying. With speeds of up to 80mph and a G force of up to 4 Gs, you’ll drop 225 feet and rise 206 feet on this stomach-churning ride. You might recognise the roller coaster from the death-defying stunt Lance Burton stages in 1999 when he cuffed himself to the track in a challenge to release himself free while the roller coaster completed the ride… Thankfully he escaped unharmed and lived to tell the tale!

Fright Dome

2880 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Las Vegas, NV 89109

For a different kind of fear, Fright Dome in Las Vegas will definitely get your heartrate going. Inside Adventuredome at Circus Circus you’ll be taken on a trip into the dark, be chilled to your bones and experience supernatural frights like never before. With six haunted houses to explore, four scare zones and horrifying 4-D movies this is one for the truly brave. It’s the stuff of nightmares and conjures up all matter of frightening freak show sights to the gory and gruesome.

Sin City Scare Fair

121 E. Sunset Road Las Vegas, NV 89119

If you’re visiting Las Vegas in October, make sure you spook yourself silly at the Sin City Scare Fair, which runs the whole month of October in honour of Halloween. With some great guests such as Travis Love from The Walking Dead, and Naomi Grossman who played Pepper in American Horror Story, they’ll bring the experience to life. Explore the Haunted Houses, relive your fears and recurring nightmares, and anyone with coulrophobia watch out (that’s the fear of clowns, to you and me…) The interactive experiences will bring your fears to new heights and you can even go on a simulator ride into a funeral parlor and be buried around…

SkyJump Las Vegas

2000 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107

Dare to reach new heights – and then throw yourself of them! SkyJump Las Vegas will test even the bravest as you strap yourself into a descender suit to give the impression of free falling off a ledge at 108 storeys high… The Stratosphere Tower is the tallest building in Las Vegas and its new thrill-seeker attraction measures 829 ft high and is the world’s highest descender descent – not a title to be sniffed at. Unlike bungee jumping, there’s no rope but you’ll be kept safe with guide wires to bring you down safely. This means you won’t suffer the jolt upwards – just the terrifying drop down! Note: don’t even bother if you suffer from vertigo!

Vegas Indoor Skydiving

200 Convention Center Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89109

If you do suffer from a fear of heights, Vegas Indoor Skydiving could be the answer. Experience the same thrills of freefalling and defying gravity with this incredible skydiving simulator. Inside, you’ll be zipped into a suit and propelled 10 feet in the air by a fan generating winds of up to 120 miles an hour! Practice your ‘tuck and roll’ landings, learn how to fly and just enjoy the experience of whooshing through the air. Forget the scare-factor of falling out of a plane, in this padded room with safety net you’ve got all the fun, without the fear!

VooDoo Zip Line

3700 W Flamingo Rd , Las Vegas, Nevada 89103

Speed between the two Rio Towers in Las Vegas at 800ft above ground, strapped to a zip wire. Sound crazy? Well, it is! The VooDoo Zip Line one of the most popular – and most terrifying – Vegas attractions and you’ll be hard pushed to experience anything like it. It’s a great one for those looking for an adrenaline hit and a totally unique way to take in the sights and views of the surrounding Nevada landscape as you profit from unparalleled 360 degree views over Vegas! There’s room for two people so pick a partner for moral support and buckle up… If you need some Dutch courage before, or a stiff drink after, there’s a VooDoo rooftop bar to take the edge off!

Vegas is a fun fairground full of wacky entertainment, terrifying rides and scary attractions to visit. It’s a great city for those who like to face their fears, challenge their phobias and test their courage! From barrel-rolling on the NY NY Roller Coaster, to being chased by clowns, flying between two of the tallest buildings in Vegas, or entering a real life horror story – take your pick and enjoy Vegas to the extreme!
